Here at Garden Isle Hotels, we value your privacy and are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our customers, guests and visitors to our websites.  We don’t sell, rent or trade our email lists or customer information with other businesses for marketing purposes.  In this Privacy Policy we will explain when and why we collect your personal information, how we use that information, how we keep it secure and the conditions under which we may have to disclose it to others.

Types of Data We Collect – Google Analytics

When someone visits our websites we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information as well as details about the behaviour patterns of our website visitors.  We do this to find out such things as the number of visitors to various parts of our websites, the time spent browsing various pages on our sites and where their browsing of our websites commences and ends. The only personal information that is collected is the IP address.  This information is not able to identify anyone and we do not allow Google to make any attempt to identify those visiting our websites.  This information is only used to assist in making our websites easier to navigate and provide content that’s relevant and of benefit to our customers.

Types of Data We Collect – Mailing Lists

When you visit our websites or make an enquiry or reservation with us we do not sign you up to receive further marketing information from us.  To receive our regular newsletters and offers we operate a double-opt-in process either via a sign up box on our websites or if you request during your stay with us to be kept informed of offers.  This means you need to submit your name and email address to us specifically for us to keep you informed of our special offers, news and details of Isle of Wight activities and events. You then you need to verify that you are happy for us to do this by confirming via the link in the automated email that we send you.  You may also request to be added to our mailing list when completing an online reservation.

We don’t sell, rent or trade email lists with anyone else.

We use a third party provider,  Benchmarkemail, to deliver our newsletters.  We gather statistics regarding opening of emails and click throughs to our offers to help us monitor and improve our newsletters and offers to our customers.  For more information please see Benchmarkemail’s privacy policy.  You can unsubscribe at any point in time from our newsletters by simply clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send you.

Types of Data We Collect – When You Make a Reservation With Us

When you book a stay with us your name, address, email and contact number will be stored in our room inventory system, Guestline Rezlynx, or HolidayBookingsOnlineLtd, in order to deliver our services and manage your bookings with us.  We never share your personal data with any other company, unless you have requested us to book ferry travel on your behalf.

We will contact you via your personal details in order to provide you with any relevant information relating to your forthcoming stay.  We may contact you shortly after your stay to acquire feedback and encourage you to leave a review on TripAdvisor. We may also advise you of any re-booking bonuses or offers available at that time.

Types of Data We Collect – Social Media

Our websites may contain social media features, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.  Each of these sites has their own privacy notices which we ask you to make yourselves aware of.

We have an integrated Facebook Pixel on each of our company websites.  This helps us gather information about what pages are of most interest to our prospective guests and guides our advertising on the Facebook platform.

Third Parties

No data is ever passed to 3rd party companies, apart from if you ask us to book your ferry travel. In these circumstances we will share limited data with either Red Funnel or Wighlink Ferries and only in order to facilitate your ferry booking.  This data will strictly only include your name, mobile number (so you may be informed by text of service status relating specifically to your scheduled ferry booking), number of persons travelling and your car registration number.  No other data is passed to these two companies and they will never contact you for marketing purposes.  Follow these links to Red Funnel’s Privacy Policy and Wightlink’s Privacy Policy for further information.

Our websites may contain links to other 3rd party sites that have their own privacy notes.  Please make sure to read their privacy policy notice before providing any personal data.  We do not accept any responsibility or liability for other company websites.
